The Giving Community

Fundraising Events and Giving Campaigns happen throughout the year, including our Woodland Star Socials, Jogathon, Readathon, Family Giving, Give Now and more!

We wanted to create a school that will educate our children respectfully, artistically and holistically and nurture in them the capacities, confidence and compassion to imagine and ensure a more peaceful, loving, just and inclusive world. It’s a big mission, but I believe Woodland Star teachers, administrators and staff are doing this every day. So are parents and extended families.”
— Chip Romer, Founder

A donation to Woodland Star Education Foundation is an investment in the children and future of our community.

Your gift directly funds:

  • Free, Fresh Food

Our beloved meal program, which provides free, freshly prepared breakfast and lunch to all students daily often using ingredients from the school garden. Meals are made onsite by hand and served using reusable and compostable dishware, underscoring the school’s commitment to sustainability and student well-being.

  • Nature-Based Field Trips

Our field trips connect students with the natural world. Through nature-based excursions based in Slide Ranch, Sonoma Botanical Gardens and more, children explore ecosystems, observe wildlife, and develop a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship, all while fostering curiosity, resilience, and a sense of wonder.

  • Festivals & Community Events

Woodland Star enriches children’s experiences by providing cultural and communal experiences that broaden their outlook and social awareness. Dia de los Muertos, Winter Spiral, May Day, are just some of the events that build connections to culture and to one another throughout the year.

  • Hands-On Curriculum

Woodland Star provides many programs that are no longer funded in traditional curriculums including art, music, and movement. In addition, all children are taught handwork - increasing dexterity and creativity through knitting, sewing, and more. Students are actively involved in the maintenance of our school garden.
